What Can We Customize in Custom TPE Grips?

Every custom TPE grip we produce can be tailored to your specific requirements. We customize key factors such as material hardness, color, texture, grip geometry, and substrate selection to achieve the right balance of comfort, performance, and durability for your application.

Size

We customize TPE grips to meet your specific dimensional requirements, from compact grips for handheld devices to larger ergonomic designs for power tools, sports equipment, and other applications. Through proper mold design and tooling, we help achieve consistent dimensions, reliable wall thickness, and stable production quality across prototypes and high-volume orders. Simply provide your target dimensions, CAD files, or an existing sample, and our team will help develop grips that fit your application.

Hardness

Grip hardness can be customized to achieve the desired tactile feel and functional performance of your product. TPE grips are typically available from soft, cushion-like 20A grades to firmer 90A options on the Shore hardness scale. Softer materials provide improved cushioning, comfort, and slip resistance, while higher-durometer materials offer better support and shape retention for demanding applications.

We also support dual-durometer and multi-durometer molding, allowing different areas of the grip to use different hardness levels. This makes it possible to add softer touch zones for user contact areas while keeping firmer sections where additional support is needed.

Color

We provide custom color matching for TPE grips to meet your product appearance, branding, and design requirements, including Pantone color matching. TPE materials can be customized with solid, translucent, or special-effect finishes such as marbling, glow-in-the-dark, or glitter effects. Whether you need a single-color grip or multiple colors combined in different TPE sections, our production process helps maintain consistent color quality across different batches.

Surface Treatment

Surface finish plays a key role in both the look and feel of your grip, and we offer a wide range of treatment options to suit your application. Choose from matte, glossy, or textured finishes — including diamond, cross-hatch, or custom patterned textures — to enhance tactile grip and visual appeal. We also support additional processes such as laser etching, printing, and anti-slip surface embossing, allowing for branding elements or functional grip patterns to be integrated directly into the final part.

We commonly overmold TPE onto substrates such as ABS, PP, PC, nylon, and metal components. If you have a specific substrate in mind, our engineering team can help evaluate material compatibility, bonding methods, and adhesion performance.

Yes. Depending on your application requirements, we can select TPE materials with improved resistance to oils, UV exposure, and temperature variations. These options are commonly used for outdoor equipment, automotive components, and industrial tools exposed to demanding environments.

Mold lead times depend on the tooling requirements. Injection molds typically take around 30 days, while other mold types may take approximately 20 days. With in-house tooling capabilities, we maintain better control over mold quality, communication, and project progress throughout development.

We conduct inspections throughout production, including mold trial verification, first-article inspection (FAI), and pre-shipment quality checks. These processes help ensure dimensional accuracy, hardness consistency, bonding quality, and surface finish meet your specifications.
