What Can We Customize in CNC Metal Spacers?

Every spacer starts with your choice of material and dimensions, then goes further — thread pitch, wall thickness, chamfer angle, surface finish, and other details that affect how the part fits and functions. We review these requirements with you before machining begins, ensuring the finished spacer matches not only your drawing dimensions but also the way it needs to perform once installed.

Hardness

We offer polyurethane hardness from roughly 60A to 95A. Softer grades provide greater compliance and vibration isolation, while harder grades offer higher resistance to deformation under load. The appropriate hardness depends on the balance between vibration absorption, load support, and the stiffness required by your application.

Applications

We have experience producing common polyurethane mount types, including body mounts, motor mounts, transmission mounts, cab mounts, and leveling or isolation mounts. Each type operates under different conditions: motor mounts are exposed to continuous vibration and heat cycling, transmission mounts must withstand torque loads and shock, while body mounts typically experience sustained compression and road-induced fatigue. We consider these operating conditions when selecting the polyurethane grade and defining the mount’s specifications.

Performance

We can tailor load-bearing capacity, compression set, rebound characteristics, and resistance to oil, heat, and UV exposure according to the application. For example, a mount used in an engine bay may require stronger resistance to oil and elevated temperatures, while one used on outdoor equipment may place greater emphasis on UV and weather resistance. These properties can be balanced to achieve the required combination of durability, flexibility, damping, and load support.

Mounting Options

We offer threaded inserts, bonded metal plates, molded-in bushings, and bolt-through designs to suit different mounting configurations. You can specify the attachment method based on how the mount connects to your assembly. For example, a bonded metal plate can provide a rigid connection where higher pull-out resistance is required, while a molded-in bushing can provide a straightforward interface for a bolt or shaft. The mounting design can also be adapted to the available space, fastening method, and installation requirements.

Why Choose Zhongde?

A part that meets spec on paper and a part that holds up in the field aren’t always the same thing. After years of producing polyurethane parts, we’ve learned that small differences in forming and curing conditions can have a significant effect on long-term performance.

One example was a batch of motor mounts that passed every dimensional check on arrival but began showing surface cracking after a season of heat cycling. The root cause was traced to cure time being slightly below specification — something that was not visible during inspection but became costly in the field. We responded by building cure-time buffers and post-cure checks into our process for heat-cycled applications as standard practice.

We also had an outdoor equipment application for a client in a coastal climate where we flagged a UV stabilizer package upgrade before production. Previous runs in similar salt-air conditions had shown surface chalking within the first year, so the material specification was adjusted before the new batch was produced.

We’ve been exporting custom molded parts for over 18 years, and that experience give us practical reference points when reviewing a new polyurethane mount — including which process details and material specifications deserve closer attention before production.

FAQs of Custom Polyurethane Mounts

Yes. If you're unsure which hardness to choose, provide the expected load, vibration source, mounting configuration, and operating environment. We can use these requirements to recommend a suitable starting durometer range and refine it through sample testing if needed.
Yes. Polyurethane mounts can be produced in custom colors to match your product or identification requirements. Colorants can affect properties such as UV stability and heat resistance, so we consider the intended environment when selecting the color system.
Yes. We can produce dual-durometer or multi-zone polyurethane mounts when different areas of the same part require different levels of flexibility or load resistance. This can be useful when one section needs to isolate vibration while another needs greater structural support.
A drawing or sample, intended application, expected load, and operating conditions are a good starting point. Temperature range, chemical exposure, outdoor use, mounting method, and target hardness are also useful when available. We can use this information to evaluate the material, structure, and production process before quoting.
