What Can We Customize in Plastic Handles?

In the design phase, you might already have a general idea that you need a part for turning, pushing, pulling, or lifting, but the exact specifications may still be unclear. The good news is, we can help you customize your plastic handles in the following areas to ensure the perfect fit for your product.

Shape and Dimensions

We offer a variety of custom handle types to suit different applications. Whether you need a tapered handle for adjustment knobs, a T-shaped handle for lifting or pulling, or something as simple as a straight bar handle, we can deliver it. More complex options, such as recessed or flush handles integrated into your product surface, are also fully achievable.
We can manufacture, but are not limited to, the following common handle types:
  •  T-shaped handles
  • Conical or tapered handles
  • D-shaped and loop handles
  • Straight bar handles
  • Recessed or flush handles

If your product has special requirements, we can also adapt dimensions, wall thickness, and curvature to make sure the handle fits perfectly and works exactly as needed.

Materials

Not sure which material is right for your handle? Our expert team can provide guidance based on the intended use of your product.

For handles used in furniture or small consumer devices, we usually recommend ABS or PP, which offer an excellent balance of cost and performance for general purposes. If higher strength or greater load-bearing capability is required, materials like PA (Nylon) or POM are a more reliable choice. For ergonomic comfort and better grip, we can also overmold the plastic handle with a layer of rubber-like materials, such as TPE or TPU, to enhance user experience.
We offer a wide range of plastic materials for custom handles, including but not limited to:
  • ABS
  • PP (Polypropylene)
  • PA (Nylon)
  • POM
  • PC (Polycarbonate)
  • TPE / TPU for overmolding

In short, just tell us your product’s function and usage scenario, and we’ll take care of the material selection for you.

Surface Finish

Do you need a smooth and polished handle for a premium appearance? Or would a matte or textured surface be more suitable for providing additional grip during lifting, pulling, or carrying?

We can also create custom textures or patterns to match your design intent or functional requirements. Just let us know how you want your handle to look and feel, and we’ll help turn that vision into a manufacturable solution.

Colors and Branding

For other personalization options, we offer a wide range of Pantone color options to match your product or brand requirements. Multi-color combinations are also available if you need a more distinctive look.

If you want your handle to carry a logo, pattern, or other branding detail, just let us know.

Why Choose Zhongde

Our engineering support helps make sure your handles are not only manufacturable, but also well suited for real-world use. Before tooling starts, we carry out a DFM review to spot potential issues early and suggest practical improvements. If your handle needs to carry loads, we can help refine the structure for better strength, and we also provide guidance on ergonomics and material selection based on your actual working conditions, such as UV exposure, chemicals, or temperature changes.

We also focus on quality at every step. From prototype validation with CNC machining to high-volume production with injection molding, we ensure consistency and durability. Depending on your needs, overmolding can be used to create soft-touch grips, and insert molding allows metal or reinforcement parts to be integrated for added strength. Every part is checked against your specifications to ensure it meets both functional and dimensional requirements.

Lead time depends on tooling and order quantity. For injection molds, it usually takes around 30 days. For other types of tooling, about 20 days. For mass production, small batches under 10,000 pieces typically take 20–30 days, while larger volumes may require more time depending on complexity.
Yes. We provide prototypes or sample parts so you can validate the design and fit before committing to large-scale manufacturing.
Yes, we can recommend suitable engineering plastics such as PA or PC depending on your temperature requirements. Material selection will be based on your actual working conditions.
