Types

We CNC-machine various gear types based on your transmission requirements, including spur gears, helical gears, bevel gears, worm gears, internal gears, rack and pinion sets, and planetary gear components. Spur gears are suitable for efficient power transmission between parallel shafts, while helical gears provide smoother and quieter operation under higher loads. Bevel gears transfer motion between intersecting shafts, typically at 90-degree angles, and worm gears are used for compact right-angle drives with high reduction ratios. Each gear is customized to your required module, pressure angle, tooth count, and other design specifications.

Sizes

We machine custom gears in a wide range of sizes, from miniature components under 10mm in diameter to larger industrial gears exceeding 500mm, depending on your application requirements. Key dimensions, including module (or diametral pitch), outside diameter, bore diameter, face width, and hub dimensions, are customized to your specifications. Critical features can be machined to tolerances as tight as ±0.025mm based on gear type, material, and application needs. Whether you need compact gears for precision instruments or heavy-duty gears for industrial equipment, we adjust our machining processes and inspection methods to meet your requirements.

Materials

Gear performance depends heavily on material selection. We offer various metal options to match your requirements for load capacity, wear resistance, corrosion resistance, and operating environment. Carbon and alloy steels, including 4140 and 20CrMnTi, provide high strength and are commonly used for applications requiring heat treatment or case hardening. Stainless steels such as 304, 316, and 17-4PH offer excellent corrosion resistance for food, medical, and marine environments. Aluminum alloys like 6061 and 7075 provide lightweight solutions where reduced inertia is important. Brass and bronze are suitable for low-friction and low-noise applications, while titanium is available for specialized applications requiring a high strength-to-weight ratio.

Post-Processing

Post-processing options are available to improve gear performance, including wear resistance, surface hardness, corrosion protection, and dimensional stability. Heat treatments such as carburizing, nitriding, and hardening can increase tooth surface strength for high-load applications. Surface finishes such as anodizing, black oxide coating, and polishing help improve corrosion resistance, reduce friction, or meet specific appearance requirements. For demanding applications, we can also support additional finishing processes to achieve the required performance and service life.
