1. The fitter stage of automotive mold
The fitter stage of the automotive mold includes: mold benchmarking – mold clamping – mold trial – sampling, etc. After the NC processing of the automotive mould, there is still a certain margin for the follow-up fitter. The fitter debugging mainly checks the lapping-in rate of the upper and lower molds and the oriented lapping-in rate so as to ensure that qualified stamping parts are stamped out. Through mold fitter debugging, the quality of automotive molds can be identified, and the size of the blanks can also be determined.
2. Pre-acceptance of automotive molds
After the mold factory completes the production of all contracted molds within the planned time and passes the self-commissioning, they can apply for pre-acceptance to the development department of the OEM. The mold factory needs to provide the self-inspection report of the automotive mold and the pass rate of the stamped parts. After receiving the pre-acceptance application from the mold factory, the development department of the OEM should organize personnel to the mold factory for pre-acceptance, mainly from the three aspects: static state and dynamic state of molds, and quality of stamping parts. The dynamic and static inspections are carried out in accordance with the standard. The stamping part inspection is divided into three aspects: quality of surface, shape and size, accuracy and rigidity.
In principle, the problems found in the pre-acceptance process are required to be addressed before mold factory can package and ship products. However, if some problems do not affect the production quality and the rectification is not difficult, they are allowed to be left to the mass production site when the schedule is tight. Mold factory should send fitters to make rectifications.
