What is NBR?

“NBR” stands for Nitrile Butadiene Rubber, which is a synthetic rubber polymer known for its excellent oil and fuel resistance, along with a wide range of other desirable properties. NBR is derived from the copolymerization of acrylonitrile and butadiene monomers. It is often referred to as “nitrile rubber.”

Nitrile rubber is widely used in automotive components, hoses, gaskets, seals, gloves, O-rings, and various mechanical and industrial applications.

NBR Properties

NBR’s excellent oil resistance and sealing capabilities make it a preferred choice in situations where exposure to oils and fuels is common. There is a table shows the common NBR properties.
